Welcome, and thanks for reading!
I am a mother, wife and part-time freelance writer. I began writing again in 2004 after the birth of my first son. Thankfully his arrival ended my ten-year hiatus from writing. Motherlogue is a place to capture my words, thoughts and emotions along this journey.
I make a living by working in corporate America. My husband, two sons and I reside in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States. If you’d like to read more of my writing, you’ll find clips at www.lizsheffield.net.
Finally, I’d love to hear from you — send me an e-mail at liz (at) lizsheffield (dot) net.

hi Liz,
thank you for the comment. Zack thinks it’s pretty cool, has enjoyed taking it to teachers and signing his “autograph” in the book for people. My daughter also thinks it’s pretty neat, and wants to know when I will write one about her.
Hi LIz,
While waiting in the doctor’s office I read your article in SeattleWoman “Co-Sleeping Quandary.” Firstly, it was wonderful to see such a loving article on the topic in a mainstream magazine — Bravo!! If you’d like some ideas on the topic for your family please send me a note.
Hugs,

Hi Liz
I discovered your site this week through the interview with Suzanne Kamata – I was flattered to have a chapter included in Call Me Okaasan. I’ve been really enjoying your interviews and have mentioned you on my blog today at

It’s great to read the thoughts of other mums!

So glad to find your blog. Looks like a fun read. Hope to catch up.
