I heard this tune, “MoneyGrabber”, earlier this month. Thankfully it was on my morning commute to the train and I was able to create my own mini-music video behind the steering wheel of my VW Golf. It was a sight to be seen from the sidewalk, I am quite sure.
Since then it’s gotten me through some low-energy days at work. And at home when my boys start to squabble (a rare occurrence, of course), if I turn on this tune, it’s guaranteed to take off some of the tension. As soon as they hear the opening chords, they start dancing. Before long, all three of us are cutting the rug. (This is *much* better than the alternative, trust me.)
This song seems like a good theme for my forties: good tunes, good dancing, good moods. I like how the lyrics suggest someone defining what they do (and don’t) want in their life. What they will and won’t put up with. That’s a lot of what 40 represents for me, I’m realizing.
Take a look, sing along and I really hope that by the end of the song you find yourself dancing in your seat, too!
